What’s a big bang?

A Big Bang is an event that brings together artists & writers from the fandom in order to create more content for us all to enjoy.Writers will be creating a fic with at least 4000 words and artists will create some accompanying art to it to form a collaborative piece.Each team will also have a beta/cheerleader (if requested), who will be helping with beta work or even motivating the team.The event will span several months, so each team will have the chance to work together to make something great, before posting happens.If you have any questions, hit up our Retrospring, or DM the twt account at @bsdbigbang2024More details & information can be found in our FAQ.

Rules & Guidelines

This event is only open to non-men characters of BSD which is inclusive of (but not limited to) the canon women in BSD, transfem characters, as well as male characters who have been genderbent to female (ex. fem!Atsushi).GENERAL GUIDELINES
1. By signing up in this event, you understand that you will be collaborating with another member and should not pull out unless necessary.2. This event allows NSFW works though you are required to be 18+ to create NSFW.3. Mods reserve the right to remove you from the event should there be any misguidance on your age.4. Dead dove/Extreme depictions of gore are not allowed.5. This event allows the works of OC x BSD character, given that both are non-male and the pairing is required to have a BSD character.6. This event allows pre-paired pairings, should you have a partner in mind, you are still required to fill in the respective sign up forms, and you may inform our mods after via discord.7. All communications will be done through the Discord server which will be opened during writer/artist/beta sign ups.8. Mods will be conducting regular monthly check-ins to moderate all participants' progress.9. We do not allow harassment, bulling, targeting, threatening, or inappropriate behaviour towards other creators or moderations. This includes (and is not limited to) discourse over ships, characters, and pairings.WRITER GUIDELINES
1. The minimum word count is 4000 words.2. Works may be in the form of a one shot, or multichapter, but the posted fic/chapter has to comprise of at least 4000 words.3. We allow a maximum of 2 pitches per writer and should the availability of participating artists be less than expected, only the first pitch will be released.4. OC writers are required to have two pitches, with the second pitch being a BSD x BSD piece of work, in the case where there is a lack of artists to create art for said OC, the second pitch will be used instead.ARTIST GUIDELINES
1. Art created is required to be at least a coloured + shaded sketch OR lineart + flat colours2. We allow a maximum of 3 collaborative works per artist. You may specific the number of pitches you would like to work with though it is subject to writer pitches availability.BETA GUIDELINES
1. Betas will be assigned to writers that request for one.2. Similar to how writer/artist pairing works, betas will also get to choose the pitch they are most comfortable working with.3. We also allow a maximum of 3 collaborative works per beta. You may specific the number of pitches you would like to work with though it is subject to writer pitches availability.

Q: How do I sign up?
A: Sign-ups will occur over Google Forms. Do head over to our pinned tweet for the sign up forms.Q: What’s the word count for fics?
A: While there is no upper limit, we’re looking at a lower limit of 4000 words.Q: Are genderbent mlm characters allowed?
A: Yes! As long as both characters are women or non-male characters, it will be accepted.Q: Are oneshots allowed?
A: Yes! Provided you meet the minimum word count, there’s no restrictions on whether you create a oneshot or a multichapter fic.Q: How will pairs/groups be selected?
A: Writers will submit their fic pitches to the mods and these pitches will be anonymously be shown to the artists to choose from. Mods will then pair/group creators together based on artists’ choices and availability.Q: is OC/canon or OC/OC allowed as long as it’s a fem ship?
A: We’d love to meet your OCs, but that depends on the number of artists willing to create art for OC characters. Hence, OC writers are required to have a second and should there be a lack of artists to create OC content, we’ll have to restrict OC ships.Q: Does this event allow NSFW? Can minors still join?
A: Yes, and yes! Mods will separate nsfw pitches from sfw pitches and ensure that NSFW pitches are only given to artists above 18 years of age who are willing to engage with nsfw content.Q: If I write a multichap fic, does the whole thing have to be posted on posting day?
A: While that would be preferable, we will allow for the first chapter to be posted on your posting day and subsequent chapters to be posted at your own timings.Q: Are we only posting to Ao3?
A: No. There will be an Ao3 collection to add your fics to, but if you're someone who posts threadfics on twt, or straight to tumblr, that will still be allowed as long as you provide us and your partner with a link to it so it can be promoted on our twt and your artist can link it in their art post.Q: Is there a discord server for the Big Bang?
A: Yes! All members who have completed the sign-up form will receive access to the server.
